My journey to the PAYA book signing was absolutely amazing!
It all starts around 9 in the morning when I got up. We left at 10 and what was suppose to be a two hour drive turned into a three hour drive to West Cheater, PA (curse you New Jersey Turnpike!) and I got to the event a little late. It all started at one and I got there around one-thirty. I was worried that I was going to miss some of the authors but I was able to make it!
So I brought along the books I owned from home and bought about five other books there (how could I not?), though I was so sad that by the time I got there they were out of Angel Star by Jennifer Murgia and Ballads of Suburbia by Stephanie Kuehnert.
So then I rushed in to get all my books signed. First was Shannon Delany author of 13 to Life, who wrote me an awesome letter in my copy of her book. And her stuff wolf was there too! Then, right next to her was Jeri Smith-Ready and I have been wanting to pick up her book Shade for so long and I was glad to now! She was so sweet!
Next, to her was Stephanie Kuehert and I was sad I didn’t have one of her books to be signed but I got some bookmarks! And she had on an awesome pair of shoes! ;) Then I got to meet Shelena Shorts, author of The Pace series. I’ve heard nothing but good things about them so I was excited to get the first two in the series. only problem was they were out of the first book when I got there! So I bought the second one thinking I’d get the first one later. But when I went up to her to sign the second and I told her how they were put of the first, she took the one she had on display and GAVE it to me! She is pure awesomeness!
Then was Dianne Salerni, author of We Hear the Dead. She was just so lovely to talk to! She gave me a bunch of swag, posters, and an awesome T-shirt! And her book just look so epic, I can’t wait to start it!
Next was Cyn Balog, author of Sleepless, which I bought my copy of. We had a conversation about how her sister thought her signature looked like it said Sin Baby, which was pretty funny. Next I went over to Jennifer Murgia’s stand and got some signed bookmarks from her :)
Then there was a small break while those authors left and the next hour’s authors came in. In was able to get my books Rae signed by Chelsea Rae Swiggett, who had on an awesome Hunger Games shirt!, and Rain by Kieryn Nicolas.
Finally, I stopped at Ellen Abbott, author of Watersmeet. She was so sweet and we had a nice talk about her book and future projects ;) Her daughter was there too and snapped a picture of us! All of you should really read her book! It’s AWESOME! ( I feel like I’m using that word too much, hehe)
And while I wasn’t able to have a book for every author to sign, I made sure to stop by everyone to pick up some signed swag or something! And all the signings there was a used book sale, bake goods, and a raffle you could enter! I got this cool journal for a dollar at the used book sale and i also won a raffle pack! I was filled with more signed swag, T-shirts, and buttons! All in all, it was an epic day and i came home with a bag full of goodies.
Though while I was there I also got to meet a bunch of awesome book bloggers! I got to meet Kristi from The Story Siren and she is just so friendly and nice! I also got to meet Steph from Steph Su Reads, Anne from Percy, Potter, and I, Jamie from The Perpetual Page-turner, Christina from Confessions of a Book Addict, and James from Book Chic! It was so wonderful to be able to talk with fellow book bloggers!
So it was a wonderful day and totally worth the three hour drive there and back! I hope they host it again next year because I’m so there!
