Big Giant Cover Contest Post

So this post will really show how much spare time I have on my hands right now. Really once school starts I probably won’t be able to do anything even close to all this except if it’s for my Computer Graphics class, so I’m letting it all out now.

Leilani from Leilani loves Books is hosting two re-create cover contest. I was only going to enter one but I ended up making two :/

The two books were Wake Unto Me by Lisa Cach and Rotters by Daniel Kraus. (all in red for Leilani’s contest)

Now, YA Addict is also holding a Re-Create Cover contest for the book Personal Demons by Lisa Desrochers. (all in green for YA Addict’s contest)

Summary: A haunted castle, a handsome young man dead for four hundred years, one heck of a scary portrait of a   witch, and a treasure hunt -- not to mention a princess for a roommate! -- all await 15 year old American girl Caitlyn Monahan when she earns a scholarship to a French boarding school.

There are secrets behind the stone walls of Chateau de la Fortune, buried for centuries along with the mystery of who killed Raphael, the charming ghost who visits Caitlyn at night. But as Caitlyn unearths the history of the castle, nothing scares her as badly as the secret she learns about herself, and the reason she was chosen to come to the Fortune School.
And nothing breaks her heart as badly as falling in love with a dead guy.

Summary: Grave-robbing. What kind of monster would do such a thing? It's true that Leonardo da Vinci did it, Shakespeare wrote about it, and the resurrection men of nineteenth-century Scotland practically made it an art. But none of this matters to Joey Crouch, a sixteen-year-old straight-A student living in Chicago with his single mom. For the most part, Joey's life is about playing the trumpet and avoiding the daily humiliations of high school.

Everything changes when Joey's mother dies in a tragic accident and he is sent to rural Iowa to live with the father he has never known, a strange, solitary man with unimaginable secrets. At first, Joey's father wants nothing to do with him, but once father and son come to terms with each other, Joey's life takes a turn both macabre and exhilarating.

Summary: Frannie Cavanaugh is a good Catholic girl with a bit of a wicked streak. She's spent years keeping everyone at a distance—even her closest friends—and it seems her senior year will be more of the same...until Luc Cain enrolls in her class. No one knows where he came from, but Frannie can't seem to stay away from him. What she doesn't know is that Luc works in Acquisitions—for Hell—and she possesses a unique skill set that has the King of Hell tingling with anticipation. All Luc has to do is get her to sin, and he’s as tempting as they come. Frannie doesn’t stand a chance.

Unfortunately for Luc, Heaven has other plans, and the angel, Gabe, is going to do whatever it takes to make sure that Luc doesn’t get what he came for. And it isn't long before they find themselves fighting for more than just her soul.
But if Luc fails, there will be Hell to pay…for all of them

My Covers:

Wake-Unto-Me-cover

Rotters-cover

The Wake Unto Me cover is already so amazing that there was no way to make it better but I did what I felt could somewhat compare. Though the cover for Rotters was much tougher to come up with though. I went with a simple look.

personal-demons-cover

I must admit that I really love my cover for Personal Demons. At first I had no idea what I was going to do but then I came across this picture of the sky that reminded me of half of Heaven and half of Hell and the rest just kind of made itself.

And finally, I have two other cover contests I’m in already *looks away*. I’d really appreciate it if you voted for me, but please don’t if you have one you like better! I don’t want to ask for votes.

Here are my entries for Princess Bookie’s Cover Contest for Losing Faith and Trisha’s Book Blog’s Cover Contest for Coffeehouse Angel.

Great covers! I say if you can do it then you should. I'm terrible at things like this but a lot of people are really great at it! I really like your Personal Demons cover a lot. The sky in the background is really gorgeous and I can completely see how it reminded you of heaven and hell. Good luck!
